Well not many people get a third chance, never mind making it as a professional footballer, if he blows this chance then he's done. All the best to the lad but he better repay the faith we have shown in him because even if it doesn't work out with us it might be a chance to revive his career with somebody else. Until then we should get behind him and hope he succeeds.

I don't have an issue with the club helping him but there are ways to do that outside of giving him a very dubious contract. EITC and the former players association would seem best placed to help.

It's a fine gesture on a humanitarian level but misplaced I feel for the football club itself as a club operating in an elite league where the highest standards of professionalism and fitness are strived for.

I have seen situations at close hand myself where "one last chance" becomes "yet another last chance" and so on.

A strange one for sure, but I'd imagine they'll be lots of conditions written into his contract and if any are broken, he's gone. I guess we'll see...

couldn't disagree more

what's the average U23 contract? Definitely under 5k or less a week? That's 10 Mirallases

we're not talking a figure that does anything to harm the club. This is the exact sort of move that can continually differentiate us. EitC is a huge asset and a central aspect of our club's and the within the reactionary climate of european and US politics rn these kinds of symbols are meaningful and make me feel GOOD

I mean I guess this is offensive because it doesn't relate to real workers and real worker wages, but footballers are workers, their lives are real and so are their failures.

I think giving a contract to one from our past who has fallen on hard times is the exact kind of thing work places ought to do because in the end work isn't just work. football is work and so it isn't just football

I'm high as all get out

My only concern is what influence he has on the youth team there.

Providing he doesn't negatively affect the youth team, I couldn't be less arsed. He'll never play for us, he'll get his fitness up, play a few games for the u23's and providing he doesn't cock it up, move on to a lower division team.

And you never know, if he does ok but not good enough to break into our first team, we might get some noiminal fee for him which we missed out first time around (I don't think we got anything for him?!?). If it covers our costs and helps a former youth player, then win win.

So we get rid of Niasse from the U23s and bring in Jose Baxter!!!!!!! Kenwright you massive bellend!!! I know this is all his doings.....using the club as some sentiment home
This lad doesn't deserve to be in football never mind at our club. All the good work that has been done since the summer and the club go and do this!! Their are NO positives from this at all

I can actually see unsy using it as a positive around the young kids. Show what can happen to promising footballers if they go off the rails. Jose will have to be working harder then any1 to win any trust back from any1 involved down there or he will get booted. He's not the first person in life to make mistakes, and if we as a club can use him to help educate the kids about some of the downfalls of earning money as a pro footballer and going off track im all for it. If nothing else shows being a telented youngster only gets u so far and it can all be gone just as quickly. Ive seen it emphasised that he is on on a pro contract, so it wont be costing us much of anything. Gives him a chance to work hard and put his name in the shop window for lower league teams
