Meh. While it might be perceived in a negative light...and understandably so...perhaps there is a bit of honor in giving one of our own a second chance after a fall from grace.

Worst case he's useless...a blip to laugh and shrug about. Short term best case would be him telling his cautionary tale to the young lads to hopefully keep them straight...and maybe even better he finds the track he was on at a young age, and succeeds, however unlikely it may be.

Doesn't this just throw a message out to our current crop that you can screw things up and we will have you back with open arms?

The message we should be sending out is work your socks off - you get one chance at this great club!

Don't make the grade/ act irresponsibly and you'll end up non league or working 9/5.

I think that is a narrow view.

People make mistakes...especially young ones.

If he has staightened out his life he could give the young lads a tale to not be followed.

That's also one way to look at it I guess and a good point

Have to be careful of turning our academy into the footballing edition of the good samaritans, but think in this isolated case it is something well done by Everton.

The lad is from Bootle, went to Hillside and is called Jose. For them 3 things alone he deserves a 5 year contract on £80k a week.

In all seriousness though, he's a very lucky lad to be offered this chance. If Unsworth can make Niasse get MoTM in a Cup Semi v Man Utd, he can convert our Bootolian Spaniard into a world beater.

couldn't disagree more

what's the average U23 contract? Definitely under 5k or less a week? That's 10 Mirallases

we're not talking a figure that does anything to harm the club. This is the exact sort of move that can continually differentiate us. EitC is a huge asset and a central aspect of our club's and the within the reactionary climate of european and US politics rn these kinds of symbols are meaningful and make me feel GOOD
Five Thousand Pounds A Week. Just think about that for a second. Just think what that could really be spent on. Don't try and pin the EitC angle on this, Baxter had his chance(s) and blew it. If he wants a job he can work the programme stall for minimum wage. But as a footballer on that sort of cash, he can do one.

Is there anywhere his wages are mentioned? Fair enough if there is, but until seeing prove of that it's all assumptions

You need to build bridge and get over footballers wages.

He remains a human being with the faults we all have. Imagine the temptations being 'richish' at 22 or 25 or 40. All are great but more easily corrupted for a kid.

I still wake up in a cold sweat that we didnt step in to save the careers of Mark Ward and Joey Barton.

We let poor Joey go to Scotland and then back to Burnley.

What type of animals do we have at the club?

Call ourselves a football club?

What's latin for bad, bad arlarses?
