Youth team football one contract takes away the opportunity for another who will be released.

It stinks and there is a reason why know one else bothered.
It's not going to get in the way of anyone's development I bet you that, he will end up working with EiTC for the most oart

No wonder the likes of Gibson get new contracts.

Pathetic by the club this.

What sort of example does it set, too?

He hasn't been able to cut it in League One, ffs!

In all fairness he was actually one of the best players in League 1. Agree with the sentiment of your post in general though.

If that's the case you can't criticise the Gibson deal.... wait a minute, but you did you hypocrite.

Haha is this how we are playing the game

I'm not convinced about this deal either,I just answered a poster who walking suggesting that we have resigned him for football season where we haven't.

Can't believe people are against this. The lad is in danger of ruining his life and the club is in a position to help. 1 year deal, playing with U23s and it could get him straight and salvage his career. It's not like he doesn't have talent

You can't criticise one and let the other off.

Jose has had enough chances and been banned twice by the FA for drug use and sacked from a club.

It's beyond ridiculous.

...I'm not sure he'll even be a regular starter. It's clearly an effort to help the lad. Given his previous failures he might be beyond redemption but the club must have spoken with him and feel he has a chance. If he fails again it will be a reflection on Baxter and not the club.

They are a separate entity. He could easily work for them in another capacity.
A chance to offer younger players advise and guidance on where he went wrong?, this is the type of thing what people laud EiTC for and now all of a sudden it's not a good thing to try and get someone back on the straight and narrow? When unsworth clearly states what this is about? Giving him the chance for a lower league club to come in for him?

There's no way that this is going to be allowed to effect the development of any of our youngsters. Bit OTT to suggest so really, I know the club has its faults but we aren't that stupid.

Haha says the man who said this about Gibson.

Hypocrite!!!!!

Actually depends doesn't it, could argue that Gibson had been given multiple chances by the club already before a new first team contract, from memory baxters troubles all came at other clubs - least the ones that are public did.

Don't really agree with either, but selling weed and doing coke which ultimdtely harms yourself, getting behing the wheel when smashed out your brain and an Everton senior player at the time, I know which is worse imo.

Anyways weird move, and Twitter will be funny to see .

It's a joke, what next offering Barry Bennel a job working with the under 14's when he is released.

Give him a chance.
