King is a short-term solution, and he was the best alternative we found. His role is largely to be back up for DCL and Richarlison. He has so far had minimal playing time, and when he has been given playing time, it has been difficult to accomplish anything special.
Football is a team game, and this season Everton (for the most part) has not had a good collective attacking game. We are among the teams that have produced the least chances, and it is mostly the combination Digne and DCL that has been successful.
Should a single player come in to turn this around, it would have to be Messi ten years ago. Or Stracqualursi considering the football we sometimes play.
So honestly do not know what people expect. Had we been Brighton, a team that has a very good collective game, but who struggles to score goals, then a player could have made a significant difference. But we have outperformed on all parameters, and have throughout the season shown that offensively we do not have a good collective plan.
