It would have been/be great to get him this week and get him to Austria for a few days with the squad. It would be great to have got him when the window opened so he had a full pre-season with the lads but it's difficult dealing at this new level.

United are a brand and only make moves when they need to/when they have to for sponsors, investors etc..

As someone said the other day, I think it was Esk, a little thing like him having an Adidas sponsorship and then moving to a team wearing Nike could cause a delay in the deal.

Yeah, this. Once a deal is agreed you never play the player in match. Plus imagine the conversation of yes you can have him for umpteen million, but not yet...we want to swan him about for a bit to make 1000 shirt sales.
