Transfer Rumour Juan Mata

Easy.

The worst manager in our entire history, imo. People will mention Walker, but look at the team that Walker inherited. Walker wasn't able to buy 30 million pound strikers, two 13 million pound midfielders and 10 million pound defenders either.

Martinez did untold damage to Everton Football Club, and if it had not been for Moshir's intervention, then we would be absolutely screwed and we would have regressed a good 15 years backwards. He's the crappest manager going.

Truly frightening to think where we'd be headed now if Moshiri hadn't arrived, Kenwright was never going to fire him.

Come aboard Juan, no reason I can see for this one not being completed soon.

Martinez said we'd have been different this season if he'd been given all the money to spend.

Yeah, we'd defo have got relegated!

This. This all day long. Still smile every day when I remember we no longer have anything to do with him, the little loser.

We would have struggled to mend the damage caused by Martinez without Moshiri. I'm not sure even Kenwright would have kept him on for another season though. Could you imagine what this place would be like if he was still here? Imagine what the players would be like if he was still here? Imagine the caliber of players we would be attracting if he was still here? His position was completely untenable, the damage he was doing was far too great!

Genuinely believe he'd of still been here, even though all the evidence and common sense in the world dictates that he shouldn't have been. Only on relegation do I think Kenwright would've made the move to sack him...our team would've been a bunch of Cleverleys and we'd of only gone one way, down to the glorious championship.

Just putting it out there.

Imagine if we had won the league cup? first manager to win a trophy in 20 years, season would have been wrote off and all eyes would have been on next season.

@The Esk would that have changed anything if martinez proved to be a trophy winning manager? One trophy and a semi final at least in that scenario surely would have bought him some time?

I honestly don't think a cup win, either of them, would have saved him.

But it's all a bit moot as he didn't win either. Because he was crap.

Anyway, Juan Mata.

I don't get why we've not got him all signed and sealed what with him not being at the euros and stuff, but I guess reasons.

I know i'm not The Esk, but the answer would be a resounding NO!
Moshiri is a successful businessman because he does not tolerate incompetence and kidders and under-achievers.

Winning that would've set us back even more years if it meant him staying. Short term great we won something, without him at the helm and by losing to United, long term I believe we'll win a lot more.

would you consider Mata to be The "Marquee signing"

opinions please

Honestly No.

I am more intrigued by Koulibaly or the Rugani link. Reason being, one is a highly in-demand defender and the other a promising player at a European Power. Neither are considered surplus to requirement by their current teams.

Mata is a talented player, but I would be worried about him coming for the money at his age, rather than to give everything for Everton.
I hope if he comes that he is a huge success though.
