Just how far behind the top four are we?

Likely 10+ points at the end of the season but really much to early to tell. Other than Richarlison we really don't know how any of our signings will do this season. If Bernard, Gomez, Mina and Zouma all prove themselves up for the challenge of the premier league then I think we could challenge for top 6. Its a big if though. So far I'd give us an 8 out of 10. To be honest I just like the fact that I like watching us play and get excited to watch us play each weekend...a feeling that didn't exist at the end of last season.

Actually think Man United are weak again this season, they didn't strengthen and Mourinho is losing the dressing room it seems. That's one place up for grabs.

Spurs again didn't strengthen, arguably an injury to Kane or Eriksen away from struggling for Top 4.

Arsenal look weak atm but have had a hard start and new manager, they might gather some momentum with some easier games.

City and Pool do look strong unfortunately. Chelsea strengthened and if they get it together under new manager tactics they could be strong too, started well.

For me, 4th is more up for grabs than last season though if we can keep up the strong start. Would definitely hope Europa is achievable

Everybody saying the RS look strong, I actually watched the Palace game last night, I thought they were very poor and if Salah hadnt of dived for the peno they defo would have got at least a draw.

Saw nothing that made me think WOW.

We'd need a blinding season.

I think Arsenal can be caught, but we're two games in, and it's far too early to tell.

Our squad is the seventh best in the league on paper. Ultimately the aim this season has to be to achieve that position or thereabouts, while seeing tangible improvement in the playing style. I think if we manage that first and foremost, then we can see where we are come the final few weeks of the season.

As it stands - a year-ago-today we drew 1-1 with City and based on that display all looked pretty good, then it all collapsed around us when we failed to bring the striker in.

So let's all just learn to walk before we can run.

We will overtake Burnley, Arsenal look decidedly ordinary and the problems with Ozil will only get worse, we might get past them. Man Utd could implode, there appears to be issues with Jose and we have seen what happens to players when he falls out with them. While Spurs have a very good front line team they may suffer with injuries or even loss players in the January window. We would appear to have improved, interesting times.

I genuinely feel we are one Lukaku and one Arteta away from really being in the mix of a top4. Hopefully Gomes is the Arteta (big let’s see).. but without a striker who can bully or cause havoc with pace we aren’t there yet. Rich, Walcott, Bernard and Gylfi are quality players, just need another season before we can go get that striker.

It’s not easy though.. very few world class strikers around.. can pay massive for a lad that just doesn’t fire in England.

Three clubs are light years ahead at the moment the other three I reckon we can catch in the next 1/2 years if we continue to build

It's a function of the media in every corner of the planet singing their praises. If the voice is loud enough the message will be believed. Only City to me is untouchable.

And to me, City finished last season on 100 points, the red vermin in 4th place on 75 points, but suddenly everyone has them on a par with Brazil 1970.

When that utter fraud Salah gets injured they wont win a single game.
