I wouldn't worry about it to so much. I mean Blue Kipper have a sodding fish and there site gets more attention. Lyndon has done a great job with the new design, and the crest isn't meant to replace what we have, its more of a tribute to what we have. Copyright may be an issue too.

I would sooner have that crest and a great layout then the bloody fish and [Poor language removed] layout that Bluekipper have.

For the record let me say that I think the forum at TW is low, but the main site isn't.

Have you seen the picture of Mikel being given his wooden Kipper fish at their awards the other week, it was shameful a striped blue fish, not even a Kipper, on a stick, cocoa nut shy prize or what:lol: :lol:
 
well, blue kipper doesn't pretend to have a fancy logo or a great design, it is what it is. just kipper.

Honestly, the design of TW is good, but just that thing... god its just damn awful (and before any asks, No I can't do any better :P)

Look at the design Danny has done on here, simple, to the point and far far FAR better than the [Poor language removed] on a plate crest on the TW homepage.
 
Bluekipper have brought their own thing in though, not to copy anything off the official site.

It's something different.
 
Lads ToffeeWeb have that crest to look modern and "independently blue".

In other words "we are that independent, we dont even have the same crest as the other websites".
 

Yeah, its identity. Its a toffeeweb brand, although Lyndon probably should have encorporated TW into the crest.

Rob, I would also disagree that what is on here is any better than what is on TW. I work with branding all the time, and I would remember the TW crest before I would remember the header in this site. That's not to say that what is here isn't good, but its just a header with some text, and not really a brand.

I digress... :)

Oh no, I can't take credit for great thinking. I was wondering about "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" from your comments about butter.
 

Ghost, its fine that you work in branding, but all I'm saying is that what they had done is create a crest, for me its so bad its laughable, I can't take that site serious anymore and with all the negativity... well I just don't visit anymore.

Is remembering a shitty crest good? not IMO it isn't....
 
Yeah but the crest isn't [Poor language removed]. Its well made, nice colours that blend well, but obviously not made an impression on you.

What you have offered is lay person's opinion. From a design standpoint it isn't laughable.

I have spoken to the designer and he didn't do it because of copyright, he just did it. He can also see why people may get bent out of shape. The fact is though people are talking about it, which means he did his job.

No disrespect but I doubt many people are talking about a simple banner with some text on - which has a very similar cut out player thing going on as TW does.
 
Yeh they ain't talking about how bad it looks.

well made I'm sure, but it still looks crap... a crest divided into four and in each bow is a little picture.. christ.. I was spot on with my initial opinion.

And the winner in the 5 and under category is.... TW!
