Not Safe For Work! Just sawn my finger off...

I'd genuinely love to hear how your finger went from an area of safety to through the saw before you had a chance to stop

Was cutting a length of mopstick handrail with skillsaw, started lashing down mid cutting, wood slipped, instinctively regripped the timber and in the split second my finger trailed into the blade.
All over, from starting cut to finger mangled, in about 2 seconds

The nurse did it so the surgeon would cut off the right finger ?

Had the same on my elbow years ago. Really inspires confidence

I was struggling to make out the poorly finger as well. Maybe it was a trainee surgeon, and it was to help him lob the right one off.

Apparently a legal requirement ?‍

There was that hospital over here that lopped the wrong leg off someone a few decades back, and everyone since has put "cut this one off, you idiot" failsafe procedures in place to avoid a repeat occurrence and a losing lawsuit with maximum punitive damages.
