to be honest... i think we could use a defender like shawcross to be honest... (ill prepare for abuse)

think we need another no nonsense tough defender with a bit of height, jags getting on a bit now and think we need an eye on the future for that type of player..
 
This is a case of running without being able to walk first.

This is going to be a more difficult window than usual because it appears that we have set our sights higher than before. But, for a couple of season we will probably have to admit they are some players who are beyond us at this time. This is one of them.
We cannot offer CL , or indeed any European football and that will almost automatically exclude the signing of certain players.

Our growth will probably have to be incremental. This season we bring in players that we could not have dreamed of before, players of the calibre of Mata, Witsel or a couple of others mentioned. Some will come, others won't be prepared to take the risk, as each transfer window passes and if the team fulfils it's part of the bargain we will be able to attract better and better players.

We are all impatient to see these players arrive. The impatience is as much to prove that we have set our sights higher than before, that the budgets spoken about actually do exist.
That it is not another false dawn.
The impatience is understandable, however, at present it is exactly what we need.
 

Our transfer strategy is to throw a bunch a money at players not interested in us and by chance they actually agree then pull out at the last minute?
