Kevin Mirallas

reminds me of school playground football when the best player want's to play everyone's position. suppose we are lucky Robles didn't drop a catch or kev would have been dragging his jersey of him. Old whiskey nose at man u would have bounced him off the dressing room wall if he would have done that to him, just shows the lack of respect the manager has from the players, zero. Gary Neville was 100% right with his sky comments. This kind of incident would cause arguments even at pub football level which is slowly the level we are beginning to look.

Everton need a wee man directing affairs in midfield - a Strachan, a Fabregas, a Modric. Can Pienaar not be encouraged to be that or is he a bit lacking in the brains department?

Sadly, we're not in a position to call the shots on this - if he doesn't get the move he wants, i.e., a Champions League club he runs down his contract and leaves for free. This being Everton we also won't have a replacement lined up, that you can be sure of. Grim days to be an Evertonian irregardless of tonight's shambles
18 months and there's reports that we can extend it to a year is a long time to "run down". I'm not saying that we offer him to QPR but we don't need to bend over backwards to give him his favourite choice.

Disagree mate, once Mirallas grabbed that ball and ran past Baines it was always going to be a mess however anyone else had reacted and alternative scenarios. Baines grabbing the ball off him would have not been an improvement, especially if he had missed.

Kev screwed up, plain and simple.

But most of us have a wtf moment in our lives, just thankfully don't do it in front of millions of people.
Exactly the action of forcing the issue by Mirallas put huge pressure on the penalty taker at that point whoever took it. The damage was done and at that point you may as well leave him to it.

I would be prepared to forgive him. As you say we all make mistakes and he's been brilliant for us but I think the problem is he probably doesn't really want to be forgiven. It's like if a girl cheats on you, instead of trying to fix it and end up looking a mug and her losing all respect it's better to break up then with still a bit of dignity.

If he had scored everyone would be made up

He tried to take bull by the horns and lift us. Which he has done in the past but this time it didn't work.

Shows a lot more about Baines and jags then it does about mirallas. Baines could have said no and he didn't make a effort to.

And as for acting better if it wasn't for him we'd be bottom 3 so yeah he has been better.

If I had a choice between him signing a new deal or Martinez staying and nirallas going it would be inhabit martinez every day.
If that's all it was then it was stupid and arrogant but forgivable. It's just hard to think that with what he and Martinez has also said about his contract and ambitions especially with the window open.

Mirallas rushed to hug Martinez as recently as the Spurs game and did it last season as well.

Think the issue is less that he doesn't get on with him but that he wants to show he can carry the team - his ego was writing cheques his foot couldn't deliver. He has talked a lot recently about stepping up and taking responsibility, think this was a (misguided) way of doing that.
He did but it also looked a bit angry. I hope your right.

I didnt see too many arguing with him either, why didnt the manager or captain tell him to leave it?? Every single player in our team is playing with a lot of doubt about themselves and eachother, and maybe Kev wanted to have a go. Its not like we didnt have another 45 minute to test the goalkeeper again, of which we didnt. Was that Kevs fault too?

No that's not kev's fault, that's the managers fault because he has not got any of this team playing for him. That's the point I'm making, what happened last night is Bobby's fault. He's out of his depth and players have no respect for him and when that happens, players ignore instruction like Kev did last night. Baines is the penalty taker, Martinez said that in his interview, kev choose to ignore this because he's not giving the respect he should be. If you believe he was brought of due to injury fair enough, I'm not that gullible.

In mirallas' defence though he took the free kick ahead of baines last week and slotted it in.
I don't think people would be bothered if he had scored it but that said I still believe baines should have had it

It was idiotic that he took the penalty, but the shear level of media coverage and reaction to the incident is absolutely obscene.

As if it was the most disgraceful thing that's happened on a football pitch in decades.

The noises that are coming out of the club are that he is wanting out- I think that show of defiance last night was another nail in that coffin.

What gets me is when its all going well all the big time charlies are loving it but when their backs are against the wall they all want out. The modern footballer? Maybe.

I hate players that think they are bigger than the club, if he wants to leave get rid of him- sell him now so we can get an inflated January fee rather than a year left on the contract in the Summer.

Something has changed in that dressing room- I'm sure of that now.
