It was a stupid move, he put pressure on himself and if he hadn't been allowed to take it then there would have been pressure on Baines. It was a massive penalty in our season too, he's got a lot if apologising to do.

He was a bad bell the way he behaved yesterday but have a strong word and move on. People wanting to sell arguably one of our best players because of a daft moment of selfishness need a lie down.

Also, this notion that he cost us a win is utter madness. We had the whole second half to do something and fell short, AGAIN!

I totally get what you are saying, but in the last few days on top of what happened last night, he has decided hold off his contract talks which takes him down to having 1 year left. Basically (and if all clubs that should know what this means) he wants to leave, so I think this may have more to do with what people are saying than the pen miss.

Football fans are fickle, if he slots a brace against Palace no one will be calling for him to be sold. He messed up, he needs to apologise to the group and move on.

The fact is he's a quality player and we're in no position to be getting rid.
