Kevin Mirallas

I watched it on Sky after I came home and they showed Lukaku try to take the ball off've him and Naismith shouting angrily at him before Baines has a few words and then left him to it.

As I say, you don't notice all that when you are at the match but everyone's text messages started coming in from friends watching at home and I reckon if Mirallas had came out for the second half he would have been roundly booed because we all knew what had happened by then.

Sounds like Naismith and Lukaku doing what Jags should of been doing. I wonder what Carragher and Neville made of it all ?

If we go down and the two points dropped due to the penalty miss makes the difference between staying put and going diwn then no one will remember him with fondness, no matter how good he was for us on one of his going days.

I am still coming to terms with it.

You don't really know what us happening when you are at the match but I have watched it a dozen times now on TV and I am still dumbstruck by it all.
Me too. You have expressed my experience tonight down to a tee.

Someone next to me said, "Mirallas? WTF I've got Baines as first goal scorer". I said, "No it's alright, Baines is in there."

Mirallas misses and we all can't believe it. Don't go down straight away at half time so I can join in the "Kopites are gobshites" chants for Hollywood (Oscar material). Go Down and get my cup of tea. Come back up a minute late and find Oviedo on the pitch.

Speculation agogo. Said he must have been injured.

Then thinking about it, said to my kids on the walk back to the car - maybe it was him being Billy Big Boots, "I'll show you all how it's done" etc.

Get home and watch all 4 hours of MNF - repeating the penalty stuff over and over - and I'm as dumbstruck as you are.

Has the feel of Lescott all over again tbh.

Oh they had a right go at Mirallas.

Neville said it was the most "despicable" act against team spirit he had ever seen.

And they reckon Jags did nowt wrong.

They both said that defenders stop back in their own halves when pennos are being taken to guard against quick counters and that it happened so quickly that Jags wouldn't have been aware of it.

Carragher went on to say Bellamy did exactly the same in an RS match one day....took the ball off the penalty taker and missed.

Rafael fined him a week's wages.

Well done, Kev....you are in the company iof Bellamy in pulling a cnut's trick.

I think we should sell him. It would send a message out and be done with the issue. Since he wants to go I don't think there's any reason to draw it out.

What I would do is sell him to the highest bidder regardless of who is his preferred choice and only if we can get a quality replacement that won't be cup tied.

Sadly, we're not in a position to call the shots on this - if he doesn't get the move he wants, i.e., a Champions League club he runs down his contract and leaves for free. This being Everton we also won't have a replacement lined up, that you can be sure of. Grim days to be an Evertonian irregardless of tonight's shambles

I know. I hadn't thought about it from an organisational point of view at the time but now it is so obvious.

Every single one of those players are technically [Poor language removed] hot and could dribble the length of the pitch if they were so inclined, but they don't because they are told not to. They know that the other players on the pitch are [Poor language removed] hot too. They do what they are told and work together in order to win. They do their job.

Mirallas went postal. Complete disrespect for the manager, the team, the crowd, the club.

Dumbstruck is the perfect description Khalekan.

If he had scored everyone would be made up

He tried to take bull by the horns and lift us. Which he has done in the past but this time it didn't work.

Shows a lot more about Baines and jags then it does about mirallas. Baines could have said no and he didn't make a effort to.

And as for acting better if it wasn't for him we'd be bottom 3 so yeah he has been better.

If I had a choice between him signing a new deal or Martinez staying and nirallas going it would be inhabit martinez every day.

This.

He's got this reputation now of grabbing the game by the bollocks and pulling us out of the mire almost, he, wrongly, thought he was doing that.

I'd still fine him though.

Sorry, selfish egotistical action from Mirallas. He has never taken a penalty before and should have left it to Baines. It is not Mirallas's job. He has proved he is [Poor language removed] at penalties. Jags and Baines needed to grow some and handle this.

Disagree mate, once Mirallas grabbed that ball and ran past Baines it was always going to be a mess however anyone else had reacted and alternative scenarios. Baines grabbing the ball off him would have not been an improvement, especially if he had missed.

Kev screwed up, plain and simple.

But most of us have a wtf moment in our lives, just thankfully don't do it in front of millions of people.
