Idk about that mate. The hamstring thing could be a lie but could see him trying to score for the tribute. Worked his arse off to score when we got wrecked at the RS last year because he had an Oviedo baby shirt on underneath

Oh no. I'm sure the actual thing may well be right.

But that story looks like a guess.

I'm a bit skeptical of the tribute theory becuase Malanda was much closer to Lukaku (childhood friends and same age) and yet he looked as furious as the rest of us that Kev wanted to take the penalty.

That's what makes me think they knew about a tee shirt beforehand and Baines had agreed to let him take a penno if we were awarded one and if we were in a comfortable winning position.

Rom then saw him breaking the protocol and deciding to take the penno when it was still level and started shouting at him.

That would make sense although how anyone could believe in a "comfortable winning position" against a Tony Pulis side after watching Crystanbul last season I don't know!

FFS why are people still going on about this? He is probably one of the most confident players we have ie a winner unlike most of the other lads in our team. Great lads that they are they've never won anything and won't break that duck unless we bring in more Mirallas types. He felt confident, he pinched the penalty, unfortunately he missed. Rather 11 of them in my team than people who are nowhere to be seen when the time calls.

Thank you!

Ten lads fighting over who takes a penalty? I'd prefer Baines just take them, he's decent.

I agree with kendall that he should have kept him on to make amends, don't really buy the injury line

.....getting a lecture from a Reds mate in the pub yesterday, all pompous he was saying what a disgrace Mirallas was and how does the club and his teammates let him get away with it. Other red pals nodding in agreement, I let him finish and replied, "could be worst, he could be a serial biter and confirmed racist". They shut up.

They really are unique.

Why wouldn't he have just unveiled this grand gesture against West Ham when he scored?

He's acted like a tit and his bigtime Charlie impression came back and bite him on the arse, there's no need to make excuses up for him. He cost us a goal and disrupted the team dynamics in the process, he'll have been put in his place in the privacy of the dressing room and will no doubt have spent all week eating humble pie.

Time to move on though as we need all our good players pulling in the same direction.
