Maybe but we had Kone too. Anybody but Pienaar. The guy is finished. And he is the last guy you want to come on
at the Bridge when guts are required and not someone diving on the merest contact.

Thought Kone was a much worse sub vs City than Pienaar.

Anyhow, back to Kev, great game from him today, should have had an assist as well if Ross had been a bit more clinical.
Worked hard although understandably tired towards end which could well have been why he missed that later shot.

Theres basically 3 viewpoints on him:

a-- Hes brilliant and the best on the lett, why isnt he playing?

b-- Hes selfish etc etc and doesnt deserve a game + been dodgy this season.

c-- If we sold him and Naismith we could sign a first 11 player that martinez would actually play.

Im on the fence as all 3 are true really.

a nice reminder to the part of our fanbase that have overwritten their memories of Kev with those of Royston Drenthe.

Played very well today.

Great to see him play like that.

Kev fresh and firing in the second half of the season will be a tremendous boost for us.

indeed, the myth that because he is skillful he has no work rate has been the worst part of the whole anti-mirrallas affair amongst certain fans

.....for me it's more that he keeps the shape and balance on that left side. If he starts as many games as Kone I think he scores more goals and offers more support to our LB. he also takes up really good central positions (missed a great chance today but he was in there).

What was noticeable from today, was how he drifts all over the place and Looks to run in behind and past lukaku. To often at city when one of our midfielders had the ball, there wasn't many options. Osman coming short, geri standing on the touch line and lukaku marked by 2 CB's.

Geri need to come of the line more and get close to lukaku. And start pulling defenders out of position

Think he has earned the right to start against Swansea. No need to rush Cleverley back and risk another injury. Have Kev on the left with Del on the right.

Same team as today if Oviedo recovers. If not then play Byram if we have him.
