Kevin Mirallas

I was staggered when Pienar played and Miralles was overlooked at City.

I thought Pienar added nothing and could barely keep up with play. Whereas Miralles has been in and out
of the picture and can score a goal. Miralles needs to play to get match fit and contribute whereas Piernar will not be renewed and is off in the summer, so why play him?
Because Pienaar generally kept possesion, slowed the game down and relieved pressure on our overworked backline by drawing fouls.

Martinez had clearly settled for a draw rather than pushing for a win and Pienaar helped in that. If we'd been losing think Kev would have been chosen but on a couple of occasions this season he's made reckless tackles (Swansea and cup game vs City) that could have cost us the result. Pienaar was unlikely to do that, possibly due to him not being fast enough to catch anyone these days!

Kev is a talented player, lets see how he does with his start today.

The Mirellas situation is a conundrum. I believe Martinez does rate him, why else would he keep him. £10-12 million plus £50,000 per week could bring in a very useful player that he could use. I think he sees that Mirellas has lost his way but feels he can be brought back and do a job again.
We have other players we need to move on prior to Mirellas .

He's hand a niggle groin injury since last season

It's started to clear up now.

Nows his chance to prove @MoutsGoat kenwrong.

Sorry he never did any of those three things. Pienar was unfit and allowed and Navas to run at Baines all night.
The game passed him by.

Miralles is simply a bigger goal threat as can be seen by his first half game at Chelsea.
Disagree on Pienaar but that is the beauty of football!

Agree Mirallas is a bigger goal threat, just don't think that was what Martinez was looking for at City, glad he's playing well so far today though.
