If I could like/ like I would. Stats are indeed meaningless. Pienaar has been our lynchpin for years. We have really missed the huge left sided hole his absence has left us. His is the hole that needs filling if he's indeed going. Yarmolenko is not it, nor is miralles or Lennon. We need to fill a pienaar sized hole with a younger pienaar. Its as tricky as it sounds...I sound obsessed....I guess I am but him missing is why Baines looks half the player and why we suddenly look lack lustre on the left. One of the biggest debunker of stats showing the worth of a player use to be Pienaar, he typically had few goals and very few assists yet was a key player for us and without him we looked a much weaker team, compare that to say Ossie who had higher stats in goals and assists yet we looked weaker when he palyed, stats are meaningless really

Mate I would love to agree with you onAgree in principle though mate, I'd love to see us going for a Pienaar-esque player there.
However, their very hard to find at a good value. The nearest player that I could think of would be Bonaventura. Class little player but is happy at Milan and it'd take at least a €15mil bid to get them to the table I reckon.
It also depends how RM wants to go. We've had success going forward playing Kone in that role almost as a second-striker/inside forward. I think that's the role that Yarmolenko would fill if he came (or a similar player) - somebody quick and powerful who can support Rom.
Mate I would love to agree with you on
Bonaventura but Ill be honest and say I have no clue who he is...sorry
Yarmolenko though ?? On the left ? Is that a possibility ? I always saw him on the right. Whatever, The position that were on dire need for (imho) is a crafty left mid with a penchant for being tripped. Oh how we've missed the P. Agreed tho on every other point other than surely Bob saw Tom in that elusive role....frankly though......he aint that clever(ley)....anyhoo brandy calls,
aveer a dechy
If Mirallas can't even make the starting line up of a bottom half Premier League side struggling to find a win, like Everton at the moment ,after having scored 24 goals for them in the last 3 seasons and playing for a strong Belgium side in last years World Cup, he must have become pretty ordinary very quickly this season, without a serious injury and he will therefor not be worth much should we wish to sell him - managed into obscurity very successfully it would seem -
But" statistics is rubbish" says the people who know and therefor it is much better to start with players who have scored 10 or less goals in the same time - hehehehe - when we are top of the log in drawing games this season.
Three or 4 Mirallas goals and we could have been in the Top 4 of which we are still just dreaming and playing beautifully with lots of "potential"
Generally i like Martinez as a manager but the way he has mismanaged Mirallas and his bench as whole leaves a lot to be desired
Don't call facts a "rediculous post " without coming with a counter argument based on facts instead of just believing whatever Mr Martinez says in media statementsMirallas has been struggling with a groin problem since last season. Martinez has said he's had injury problems but expects him to make an impact 2nd half of the season.
You've put 2 + 2 together here and got 600.
'Managed in obscurity'.
Ridiculous post.

Mirallas is our second most prolific goal scorer by far over the last 3 seasons - 24 of them - and now suddenly he has become a bench warmer while we draw game after game hoping to play in Europe one day -
i am sure you can do better than just generally insulting my post - it is not as though we have been winning constantly have we ?
There are a lot of holes being filled in that post...
