Literally could be on 1 point after the 4 games with a tough run of fixtures to follow. If we had a proper striker we would surely have more and that’s on Thelwell.

It’s on the club too mate, as we’ve known about this potential situation, since the moment Richarlison agreed to go to Spurs.

What a job he's landed, no pressure, no real repercussions for failure to actually do his job properly or hit targets (you have to imagine he's been told he get as much of the deadwood gone as possible.. so far we've got Alli gone and that's it), and so far he's forced us into a new season without a striker. What if the manager has his heart set on one who won’t be available until his club has brought someone else in, which might not happen till the end of the window?

….or it might not happen at all. High risk.

if the Manager has his heart set on a specific target then it doesn’t stop you bringing in another to fill the void. To start the season without a recognised attacker is negligent & Thelwell is accountable.

The DOF should be within his rights to overrule him on that, and IMO should overrule on waiting to the very end of the window. In fact, if we want to keep the DOF model then the DOF needs to be able to overrule on any possible transfer.

The problem at this club is that the DOF does not appear to have final say on recruitment.
