….no it’s not.

You have a spend envelope to work within & you prioritise. Do you bring in two largely defensive left sided players whilst the team remains without an effective attacker?
Or do you sign the players in the order in which they are available, so that you're as strong as possible on the last day of the transfer window?

….he’s paid a lot of money to identify the best talent available at the price we have.

He took a gamble on Dominic Calvert-Lewin remaining fit, he has to be culpable for allowing us to start a season in top flight football without an effective striker. There are no excuses, it’s a debacle.
I do understand the frustration but I feel you are ignoring our particular financial situation at the present.
If at the end of the window no one has arrived he can be fairly adjudged to have failed but I will keep my powder dry until then.

It's complicated but we pay professionals very highly to have plans and strategies in place. We've known for months Richy would be sold, so to go over 8 weeks without a replacement is just incompetence.

Your argument is we should not criticise because it's a hard job. My argument is that they are employed to find solutions to difficult problems, not to try hard.
I'm not saying don't criticise him. I'm saying that's far easier than being him.

I entered this debate to shoot down those who think he's too dumb to understand what he should be doing.

If that's not you, then walk away.

Oh there is lots on this board at the minute. So many people completely lapped up that waffle about judge us at the end of the window.

You refuse to accept any criticism of the board whatsoever. You are clearly content with the performance of the board and DOF in that case?
Im happy to criticise the board, it’s just yiu have zero idea what is happening It why!!!!

No, I hate endless posts of dreary doom crap like yours. We all know we need a forward or two, why post it every five minutes ? It’s pathetic

And I don't like posts defending the board and ridiculous posts about how our summer business has been great. I find them pathetic too.

But it's a forum and people are allowed to disagree.

Anyway, Kevin Thelwell, hurry up and sign a forward. You've had 9 weeks now and it's beyond a joke.

…I’m sure he’ll bring somebody in but he has still to be accountable for us being a month without an effective striker.

His job is to know the global market, he should’ve brought a useful stop-gap striker in even if his key targets are unavailable until the end of the window (which I find difficult to believe). He secured two short-term defensive loans both known from his connection to Wolves, but not a single attacker.

I think the incessant wailing and stamping of feet puts many off a certain profile of poster on here mate. I doubt there’s too many that rate or like the board and I’m sure 99.9% are really wanted fresh players to give Everton something, anything to kick start their season. It’s just that the adults in the room realise that having an hourly paddy on the board doesn’t create much except a tedious forum to read. Some can treat these threads as their own personal therapy but others can think they’re just way too attached to a billionaire’s plaything and perhaps need to have a walk round the block for their sanity.

With respect to all inferred like.

All entirely fair, and I am looking forward to when this window is over because I haven't enjoyed it one bit

But I do think we are at the point where as a fanbase we need to start holding the board to account and actively pushing for changes to be made. We were fortunate last year to survive on under 40 points so should have been making the changes needed to ensure it doesn't happen again. Unfortunately I think things have become even more disorganised and we are only going to get away with it for so long. We have no right to forever stay in this league.
