Is Kev away on Holiday or somat?
Chelsea's offers are all just sitting in his inbox
But we're also leaving points on the table potentially. 2 more premier league games before the window closes.*dons fireproof suit*
I completely get that we're going into Premier League games really undercooked up front - but I can't help but feel that loads of the fanbase are just getting too impatient again.
For me it's pretty clear that, had the desired targets been available & at the right price weeks ago then this would arguably be less of an issue now.. but the reality is that these types of deals are rarely ever that straightforward. I do fully believe that Lampard & Thelwell have a plan for where they want the squad to be come the end of the window and that plan is still in place.. it's just unfortunately not been the quickest/smoothest of processes. It also hasn't helped that Dom picked up a new injury right on the eve of the season starting when, for all intents and purposes, he was fit and raring to go. You could tell that really peeved Lampard off.
It's not like Thelwell is sitting on his hands thinking 'I've got loads of time here, no rush' - his whole job is about squad development so he's clearly got tons to do. It's obviously a very measured & methodical approach he's been taking - we need to have an eye on the long term strategy of the club, hence why a lot of the targets & deals that are being reported have been pretty far removed with the gung-ho approach that we've applied before.
So I get that we're desperate for a striker or two - but we simply can't afford to make any more glaring mistakes in the market.
I think if it wasnt historical that we have done this season on season for a good while now then you may have had a point but considering the financial predicament and lack of co-ordinated plan, then no its a complete and utter joke of a way to go about any activity.*dons fireproof suit*

We can't afford to do nothing either. This is a very fine balancing act, and the consequences of failure are relegation.
We have 8 days left to find forwards who can keep us in this league.
This is why I'm nonplussed at the lack of action to date. Every hour, never mind day that passes, other clubs are doing business.Just mentioned it to one of the lads on here, the issue also is that the closer the window gets to closing the more reluctant a club is to letting their better players go as they also need time to replace said player.
Ironically, leaving it until deadline day makes the likelihood of glaring mistakes more likely. It’s just down to luck who goes where and what’s available. You’re not securing strategic targets necessarily, just grasping at players to fill spots that might do a job.*dons fireproof suit*

It's astounding to me that some think he's so incompetent that he doesn't recognise the urgency or importance of attacking reinforcements that's so glaringly obvious to every single one of us.It's not like Thelwell is sitting on his hands thinking 'I've got loads of time here, no rush.'
