His way proved correct by one goal and two saves in the last 30 mins of the season.
Hardly an outstanding performance.
Besides which our financial woes are in part due to buying average players in the last third of their careers who demand high wages.
We have to break that particular cycle somehow.
Well I think he produced enough points from when he came in more than one game, if Lampard had stayed I’d say we wouldn’t have had any worries over the three or four games we would have been down by then.

As for buying average players who get high wages Dyche hasn’t signed any players up to now but I think he improved the performances of a few players and got the team playing attacking football and creating chances that would have converted if we had had a fit striker instead of the one Lampard bought!!

Still waiting on his interview...I am guessing that until there is any incoming there will not be any interview from anybody, including him, moshiri or even dyche.

Improved the performance of a few players? Who?

You get better by playing games. If you've noticed our academy players don't get better sitting on the bench watching Neil Maupay running about.

Going on loan isn't "lala land" if you haven't planned it well which is the case I've made before. We've just sold/got rid of Simms, Small, Price, Samuels-Smith, all leaving for game time we didn't provide - Simms the only one with actual premier league minutes as we actively sent him on loan.

We're an awful outfit at the moment when it comes to first team avenues IMO cos it's never planned as we're a shambles behind the scenes.

Canon isn't a magic bullet people think he is either. They just throw his name in cos he had a decent half a season loan spell and is a bit nippy and is the next on the conveyor belt after Simms.

You can't plan pre-season like that IMO unless you're actively planning to give them game time. A year on the bench for Canon is useless.

You’d think that we would start building relationships with a couple of clubs in each division and even abroad.

Depending on the level of player you would send them to league 1 when they’re 18 or whatever and for the better ones you’d send them straight to the championship of France or Holland etc to get them game time … sign them on 5 year deals when they’re 17 and by the time they’re 20 you’d know how Lilley they are to break through .
If they’re not likely then you have them on 1-2 year contracts and sell them and repeat the process.

Having a model like that would show any potential youngster and their family that there is a plan for them and depending on their attitude and ability they will end up playing 1st team footy at some level.

It’s a lot better than just playing them in U19’s and them being out of football by the time they’re 20

Closest we've got is Preston lol

Another DOF doing a sterling job.

Brands has probably been the best but wasn't allowed to do his job with Moshiri and Kenwright in his ear sll the time.
It’s exceptionally hard to make a case for any of them doing well, but struggle to put Brands above Walsh or Red Kev.
Brands profligate spending on fees and wages, for me, makes him possibly the worst of a bad bunch.
Some of Walsh’s signing at least made money back, even if like Klassen it was at a loss, others were actually profitable, even if only marginal.
The contracts handed out by Brands have essentially rendered most of his £20m+ signings untransferable.
CBA myself but would be an interesting analysis to see net transfer outlay for each of the DOF’s purchases. Suspect Walsh would be head and shoulders over Brands esp with assumed fees for the likes of Pickford and DCL (both signed under Walsh) applied.
For every Tosun under Walsh there will be two Gbamins under Brands
