2023/24 Kevin Thelwell

Or made something up you mean lol
And the emergence of young talents such as the ever-impressive Jarrad Branthwaite, and the ongoing progress we are seeing from Youssef Chermiti and Lewis Dobbin, who are now established members of the squad, further illustrates the benefit of a streamlined group, where every player has a key role to play during the campaign.

Yes.

Everton are quietly developing quite a talented group of young players within Sean Dyche’s side with two now being highlighted.

Sean Dyche has shown already he’s more than willing to give youngsters a chance for Everton. The emergence of Jarrad Branthwaite into a league-leading defender and James Garner into one of the most reliable players in the team have been great to see.

But aside from these two, there are two others currently breaking through into the senior team and the Everton Director of Football has now praised both.

Here’s what Kevin Thelwell had to say about Everton’s emerging talents while writing a column on the club website.

In his update on the Everton official website, Thelwell was discussing members of the squad who’d particularly impressed him for a variation of reasons.

While doing so, he found himself needing to praise the development of impressive Everton duo Youssef Chermiti and Lewis Dobbin.

He praised, “the ongoing progress we are seeing from Youssef Chermiti and Lewis Dobbin, who are now established members of the squad, further illustrates the benefit of a streamlined group, where every player has a key role to play during the campaign.”

Seems to me like hes saying these are the next two to keep an eye on

I mean the only part I pay attention to were the words Thelwell actually wrote which were simply that they’re progressing.

Not really mate. He name checked Godfrey, Gomes, Harrison, Garner, Branthwaite, Gueye and McNeil too.

Was just some flannel about why we didn’t bring any players in.

Feels a bit removed from reality to be honest. He should probably take those critical thinking skills he's so fond of and analyse the "3 from 21 points" run he mentions so many times. Realistically how many more points should a relegation battling team be getting from those 7 fixtures?

He's not completely wrong about Thelwell but should we really be complaining about sensible and pragmatic thinking from the people in charge of the club when we've just had 5 years of nonsensical decisions. Seems an odd target to attack.
