An absolute shambles of a transfer policy.

That's easy. We're the worst run club in PL/UK.
We're about to write off start of the season.
Exactly like we did last year.
Every other board knows it + take advantage of our incompetence/desperation.
Thelwell is the perfect DOF for this shambles.

By all accounts wanted him last season but thought maupay was the better deal

He will play all the time, people need to stop thinking of DCL as first choice because of his injury record.

Chermiti might be great for the future who knows
Danjuma looks good
Young is better than Mykolenko and alright for one year
Harrison will also be a good option on the wing imo

But how in the hell are we here again with no striker other than Dom with his injury record and Maupay who is awful. It’s negligent, it’s pathetic, it’s beyond a joke.

And whilst all this is going on we’re going all out to sign Gnonto with no other major links to strikers

Totally agree it's gross negligence but it's the same people making the same decisions season after season whether it's brands thelwell or whoever ever comes after them

£42m on strikers and not one is ready or capable of hitting double figures

Baffles me. You've just stayed up with half an hour of the season to go and we start a new season with just Ashley Young in the team.

He's absolutely terrible at his job and the manager doesn't agree with his signings either it seems

Just sack him and scrap the DOF role. It doesn't work here because we aren't a normal club

Bottom of the table. Escaped relegation two seasons in a row without a reliable striker. And the only one we’ve brought in can’t even make the bench.

Make it make sense. Only explanation is they are fully preparing for life outside the prem.

….I’ve been using the term ‘negligent’ for 12 months. What surprises me is that quite a lot of posters are quite defensive of Thelwell, indeed a few think he‘s doing a good job.

Leaving a top flight team without an effective central striker for an entire season is bad enough, starting another season in the same position is indefensible. Fans should never forget this.
