Yeah, there's not much more he could add really. Makes it clear the financial restrictions, and I think we can all see how bad things were really. This sort of thing is all you can really ask.I find it difficult to disagree with anything in that article

I disagree with him that he thinks we kept the same defensive base as last year. Mina and coady were much better options than Keane and Godfrey. We are weaker there.I find it difficult to disagree with anything in that article
That was the phrase that my eyes went straight to. The solid defensive base left on a free.Apart from the "we said if we could keep the same solid defensive base as last season"....well Seamus is crocked, Mykolenko is crap, we started the season having to utilise Keane again and are one injury away from having to rely on him or God forbid Godfrey again.
Apart from that, yes I agree with what he's said.

I appreciate him coming out and explaining things.
I absolutely do not agree that there were not players out there in the last week who could have improved depth and quality of the squad. I dont believe that Moshiri wanted to use the funds brought in to improve the squad - and yesterday's takeover announcement just reinforces my opinion on that.
Ultimately I believe we dont have a squad that is ready to compete at this level. One or two injuries and we will be in enormous trouble. The window was a huge failure in the end but I blame Moshiri for that.
To be fair, I can't disagree with an assessment that the loan market was thinner than normal this year. Under those conditions, prices will be inflated at the back end.Still think we should have found another loan. He says that the prices are inflated early in the window and then we can’t afford the inflated prices in the late part of the window.
I think most clubs end up with clear issues window after window. They just don't have as many. It's the nature of the beast for players to drop off, suffer injuries and fail to develop to their expected potential. What we didn't do a good job of under Moshiri was identifying young players who would either become club stalwarts or be sold on for a profit. Do that for long enough, and the DoF becomes the proverbial Dutch kid trying to hold back the North Sea.He talks about depth, in defence and central midfield there is a glaring lack of it.
As I keep saying, if you keep having to fill clear issues window after window like us it’s not a good strategy and shows a lack of foresight and tact.
I’ll give him credit for being more open in communication at least.
Where's 'BARLOW' when you need him...Didn’t we nearly sign a player called Lowbar once
