2024/25 Kevin Thelwell

From yesterday's lineup:

Pickford: Already here.
O'Brien : signed by Kev, not favoured by Dyche, turns out he's outstanding.
Tarkowski : signed by Kev, on the whole superb for us on a free.
Branthwaite : kept on by Kev and not loaned out, now world class.
Mykolenko : Already here.
Gueye : Re-signed by Kev, possibly our player of the season.
Garner : Signed by Kev, great player.
Lindstrom : Signed by Kev, not favoured by Dyche, turns out he's got potential and better than seen under a good manager.
Ndiaye : Signed by Kev, actual class, won't be here long.
Doucoure : Already here, we have a good win ratio when he plays and scores, given a new contract by Kev.
Beto : Signed by Kev, not favoured by Dyche, under a proper manager starts scoring.

Big Kev has been doing bits.

All whilst generating more money through sales than he spent on purchases, and reducing the wage bill.

It proper baffles me people think he’s done a bad job,I can only think they are on a wind up

There's no doubt he's made some big mistakes too, but I'm yet to hear a reasonable argument that's he's doing a poor job from people who just resort to using laughing emojis and no substance.

By and large the biggest negative is he's been awful in the loan market (Lindstrom aside and a nod to Mangala also) but a few big whoopsies as well. Spending money, Maupay aside he's done well Beto if he continues wipes that from the against column too.

On the loan market, how many loan players actually work out across clubs? I reckon only one in ten. There's a reason a player will be loaned; they're plop and their club doesn't want to keep them but nobody wants to offer money for them.

Pretty much yup, I think we're seeing a shift in the way loans work now though, a lot more seem almost like a way of circumnavigation of PSR.

The moment someone uses appearances instead of minutes I know they dont believe what they are saying. How many goals in how many minutes has he had for us?

Its 10 goals in 1800 minutes.
6 goals in 1300 for the league.

Good record and spot on about the weirdos who say

"Hes played 100 games"

When someone actually played for 1 min in each of 100 games...

Goal every 222 minutes for league appearances.

Not sure what you mean about not believing what I say? He’s looked poor in an Everton shirt more often than not. Hopefully that changes now we have a better manager.

Besides, my original point wasn’t about any one player, it was about how Thelwell has not done well regarding the striker situation. Don’t think that changes because our single fit striker scored two goals at home against a side who have lost eight of their last ten, conceding 25 goals.

Interesting...

Wanted Guirrassy but Kenwright/Moshiri gave him Maupay

Signed Chermiti as a development player who looked ripe in preseason only to suffer a bad injury.

Signed a serie A sides top centre forward for zero downpayment. Clear for all to see his strengths and weaknesses which his manager didnt realise (see multiple other players).

Quite bizarre to complain about Thelwell.

He's made you all look like the dkheads you are

I've always been on side of 'The Real Architect'.

Needs a 3year extension.

If he continues his current pace, he will have greatly improved our striker options. Im not saying he will, but I wouldnt be pointing to his actually decent striking record as an argument at this point in the season. Chermiti also looked good until he got injured. Now that we have a real manager we will get to see their ability.

Nothing like leaving it right till the end is their Kev, especially when you then have the possibility for everything to fall through and end up with nothing when your manager has been desperate since even before he lost another 2 players to injury in the previous game.

Terrible Dof this fella and i cannot wait till he is replaced.
I agree. I think most of his signings have been abysmal.
