If TFG were going to keep this fella on i would think they would have already offered him a contract extension for fear of losing him. Everyone can have an opinion, but how you can have a balanced, competitive squad when you're having to sell players to make PSR profit and at the same time having practically no money to do any deals, I genuinely don't know.
To some people he's done a poor job, to others like me he's done a remarkable job.

Mark Douglas specifically has had more access than pretty much any journo over the last few months.
Having said that, I suspect that the access comes from Thelwell himself and you're right, his future is in doubt. It's difficult to know how TFG would view the job he's done and his suitability for the job ahead.
Having said that, we will be working on deals well ahead of the summer and appointing a new DoF in the summer would probably be very disruptive to our transfer dealings so if they're going to make a change you'd hope they put contingencies in place to allow for that.

I would give Douglas a 3 (average) at best mate but who knows, might be more reliable than he used to be. Time will tell. Still think they would have already sorted out his contract though if they intended to keep him on.

Moyes tried to sign him for West Ham on a number of occasions. It became a running joke amongst West Ham fans.
The company I work for is based in Essex and a load of West Ham STHs work there. After Broja got injured just as Moyes was joining, had a number of conversations with them about how "funny" it was that Moyes was going to miss out on him again because of it.

Well I can see some, at best tenuous links from last January, then more rumours from summer 2024, after Moyes had left. So I remain unconvinced really.

The only person at the club with a longer documented interest in Broja than Thelwell is Moyes.

I don't necessarily disagree mate, I wouldn't touch him based purely on his injury record but the interest in him is so long-standing from both Moyes and Thelwell that I think you'd have to be daft to not think there's at least a chance we'd do it if the price was right.
