The wage bill is much improved, obviously. The remaining dead weight is obvious to identify but more difficult to move and then replace.

Yes that disconnect is glaring because no Director of Football would support the application of one style of paying which involved hoof to a single striker.

Yet if you look at their goal contributions at other clubs it's better than at Everton.

The only player who had a better season with us goalscoring wise than another club is McNeil and so far that appears to be an anomaly.

Perhaps the problem is the way we play and not just Thelwell spotting attackers that aren't 'dangerous'.
