2024/25 Kevin Thelwell

Just because he's got a hard job doesn't mean he's necessarily good at it. A squad has been built where the majority of the players wouldn't be missed. How many could potentially start if we wanted to be a top 10 team in 2 years? Pickford, Brainthwaite and Ndiaye are the only ones that spring to mind. The rest are either not good enough or too old.

Embarrassing

Agree there simply isn't enough pace or goals in this team too

Tbh, I don’t think he’s wrong. Whether he’s signed anyone suitable for what he sees is a different argument.
What do you want to see from an Everton team by way of playing style?
He doesn’t even mention the 80s, you know, our most successful period?

I hate the way people bang on about the dogs of war crap. It was a response to the horrible position we were in when Royle took over - he needed to get the team battling harder - but it was the classy bits like Kanchelskis that made us worth watching.

In any case, Thelwell has done a very good job balancing the books over the last couple of years but, much like his coaching counterpart in that time, we need to move (him) on now and start raising the quality.
