Tatcitally aware? From an attacking point of view? Surely the art of attacking is the same as defending? As I'm being attacking but without compromising the defence so you can actually win football matches. Going all out attack isn't being tactically aware at all.

Must have forgotten the two years of complete turgid muck we had where he played geriatric strikers on the wings, 3 holding midfielders, defenders in midfield, kept subbing off our best player to prove he was right to the crowd, would pick Kone and Cleverley over Deulofeu and Lennon, and had one shot of note in 3 away derbies (which wasn’t anything to do with attacking well).

Phenomenal attacking football.

im sure allardyce said they wont be letting players get below two years anymore, so hopefully this is addressed

..can’t do anything about it if a player refuses to sign a new contract.

As i’ve said previously with Dowell, that’s my fear of giving him another season on loan. His contract would be almost up and we’d lose another asset for virtually nothing. It’s a very difficult balancing act.

A season compared to 7 games. Yeah, great comparison.

A single season out of a whole career? You forget how bad we were when he left? The longer he stays at a club the more the goals condensed column increases and the lower down the table they finish. That's a fact

We finished 7th the season after. No surprise really given that in his last season we got to two cup SFs.

Koeman received the Martinez attacking bounce - he then tore that apart and left us with no attacking prowess...hence the chaos we're in.

Anyway, this is about Dowell.

Dave dave dave... so koeman inherited bobby's attacking bounce and that aided him in finishing 7th i am assuming? The one aurgument you have ever spouted is 21 wins and a record prem points tally. He inherited Moyes defence and squad fitness. Something he destroyed much like you are saying about koeman.you have finally done it and admitted that bobby was a fraud and it his only decent season was basically down to Moyes coaching. Thanks for that.

Anyway like you say this is about dowell. Didn't you say sending him to the championship to watch long balls fly over his head and to come back with broken legs? Doesn't seem to be as useless a loan as you thought does it

He looks no different to me in what he does since going out on loan. All that's happened is that Forest get the benefit and we're stuck with a load of uncreative garbage apart from Rooney and Lookman...who hardly gets a game.

If we had a decent manager with half a clue in the last two seasons Dowell would now be an established first team player for us. He is well past his due date to be a first teamer.

The problem that we have now is that Forest have a new manager in Kranka who may not play Dowell and Allardyce who definitely won't play him.

Dowell wasn't ready two seasons ago. Who would you have dropped for him? Barkley? You have been saying how much you rate barkley so you wouldn't have dropped him. Dowell if he had stayed would have been playing in a team that doesn't play to his straights and that was getting beat every week and his confidence would have been shot to bits. Who would you have dropped to play him this season? Rooney? Siggy? They are the only players that have scored for us. Take eithee of their assists or goals out of the team and we would be in big trouble . Dowell looks like he is enjoying and benefitting at Forrest and playing 30 + games will be great for him

Sigurdsson has been poor. I'd easily have played Dowell in front of him. Rooney for large periods of games has looked hopeless...and he has head and shoulders been our best attacking force.

Siggy is getting fit and has still got assists and goals... Rooney has 10 goals and has assists. You really think dowell would have contributed in the same circumstances ? Debut season playing in a woefull team and with the starting fixtures we had... it's had the potential to ruin him

What's the point? This is the thing I don't get with these recall shouts; we realistically have absolutely nothing to play for now except 7th. Are we recalling him because we desperately need him to move above Leicester and Burnley? No.

Just let him stay there and develop.

He’d develop better here playing a higher standard and on form he’s much better than what we have. Also gives him premier league experience ready for next season

I recorded and watched the Forest v Villa match yesterday, Kieran Dowell played the full game , Forest lost 1-0. Dowell was average , it was interesting in that just about everything we know about young Kieran he did in the match. At times he faded out of the game, then returned with a deft flick of his left foot to set up an attack from midfield. He tracked back when needed , something he has improved on and if you were watching him for the first time you wouldn’t have him down as the player who was going to spark a Forest revival. But if you’d seen him play you’d always believe that in a team 1-0 down he was perhaps the most likely to pull one back . Karanka looks to have faith in him as he wasn’t substituted, and late on he nearly scored in trademark Dowell fashion, letting a ball in midfield go across him, taking it forward and hitting a swerving left footer from 30 yards. It was too central and the GK delt with it but it was Forest’s best attempt on goal. So enough good touches to make a good impression on Karanka, he brings something different to every team he plays for and the central role suits him better than playing out on the right.

Then it must also be postulated that Martinez received Moyeses defensive bounce - he then tore that apart...hence the chaos he was in at the end.
You can't have one without a link to the other
