Dave, whilst I was happy he was given a chance when Martinez went, he didn't light up those games.

Yeah, he was solid but Davies did more and look where he's at now.

Go and have a season at Forest, play well and we go again next summer. He's 19, plenty of time.
Where did he go on loan to?

I personally dont think Dowell is even close to being ready at "this level", a loan would be utterly superb for the lad, he will either kick on or tread the John Paul Kissock road.

Nah, he'd have been fine as a squad player, with the odd cameo from the bench and the occasional game in the League cup or something, but I agree he does need time away to develop the less sexy part of his game out of the gaze of the Gwladys St and, to a lesser extent, the Park End.

A loan's spot on though, it'll keep him well grounded and give him more to play for than he'd get in the U23's or as a bit part player for the first team. From what I've been told, I believe Unsworth thinks this is the right thing for him at this stage in his career.

Looking forward to see him play for Forest. Great club and great move for him. If he can prove himself down there like Coleman did all those years ago, we'll have a player on our hands.

Yanno that Beckham got loaned out for exactly that reason by possibly the greatest manager we've ever seen in the game?
Different era. Different club with a lot of stars ahead of him.

I dont expect to see this lad in Everton blue again. He'll either be crocked or sold unless Koeman is sacked.

Yeah, toughen them up.

Hoo Rah!
Nowt better than a bit of game time though Dave. And they're a good club with a high pedigree. Coulda been much worse for the kid. Like for instance, sitting on our bench, or playing Liverpoo reserves in the U23's league which he's already done. Championship is defo a step up. Ask any ex pro and they'll tell ya it's a tough league to get out of, but some good quality football. Some awfulness too I agree, but the kid has to learn.

Well done to the Ronk and Rhino; send the kid out and see if he's man enough to handle real football

Another excellent decision from the management team
