Ok mods, i can understand why you keep closing all the Kirkby threads, but something some one new (sorry for forgeting name) said, was that we are getting new members all the time and they would be interested in reading other peoples views.

(you did say unless something new happened, it would remain closed. to the newer members, this is new and to the older members, their views are new)

maybe sticky one and just let people talk it out in there?

that way it would be all kept in one place and if you wanted to read or add to it you could.

could make life easier for you if it was contained in one thread instead of breaking out into a new one every few hours

i dont agree with a lot of what is wrote, but think it is wrong to deny members a proper place to debate what is to lots of blues, THE major everton talking point. they ALL (myself included) need to reread what they have typed before posting and remember they are talking to fellow blues

Just a suggestion

The Kirkby thread that's stickied on the Everton Forum - is there any point in having it there if it's only opened to dump a few new posts and then locked again?

See the poll and read Gordons and Black Toffees replies just before yours.

I fancied abit of stadium debate today with the Guardian doing that article. Also no explanation on why its closed too! BOOOOOOoooooooooooo.......

Reasoning has been given countless times. In this thread, various others and on the first post of the Kirkby thread and throughout it.

You do realise it has been closed for months and the recent posts added to it were merged into it?

I'd keep it open, although no doubt we'd get the same old stuff posted in it.

What I would like to see is a vote on just how many people are for and against the move. So many things have changed since it transpired that the stadium wouldn't be world-class and effectively free. The vote conducted by the club was based on those being the case.

How many people have changed their minds?

I actually think most are against the move now. But I'm not local, so can't measure opinion properly.

I still maintain Kirkby will be the undoing of the club, though.

I understand the problem moderating an opened thread, as the debate get's pretty heated. And I also acknowledge the 'we've said all we can' factor. But unopening and locking it every now and then to just swallow up another thread comes across an act of cracking down on the debate itself. It's not really a thread at all. It's a holding pen for undesired criticism.

We don't open and close it. We just merge any threads of that nature into it...

Its left there to for new members.
