Kone Signs on 3 Year Deal

That pretty much sums up his downfall for me this season.

He just wasn't getting the space he was used to and eventually his confidence obliterated.

He messed up chances in big games too.

His last good game was Chelsea at home. He could've had a hattrick, was awesome. . Then he scuffed that chance at the end... .

Jelavic left Goodison that day and never returned.

Do past injuries concern anyone? Or his alleged training ground bust up?

It'll be his second season in the Premiership I hope he doesn't come down with second season syndrome. Couldn't happen at a worse possible time for him.

Yes of course, we have concerns, but lets judge it at the end of the Season, yeah?

I keep reading Kone has good technique and is quite creative. How true is this ?

The stats back it up!

Last season, he had the following:

84.5% Pass Completion (3rd best for a striker)

51% Dribble Success (better than Mirallas; also, bear in mind he attempted the 4th most dribbles for a striker)

1 in 8 shots went in (Anichebe: 1 in 11 as a comparison)

sorry to advise guys but forget Jelavic. He is truly and irretrievably gone. His first season was an out and out fluke. We have teams in the ****ty divisions here in New Zealand(!!) that have better strikers than Jela (and they don't spend all game tripping over themselves or getting offside). I like Jela as a fella but don't want him in my team.

am sick to ****ing death of hearing about oh hes 29 we cant get no resale value or some **** and ****ing what am happy with the signing he can add something to the team now and we have got him in earlyish get behind the manager and kone and future signings or **** off with moyes to the manc scum or **** off over to the kopite scum

kone can add something to the team now, them draws we had last season some of them we should of won and maybe with kone we would of got them, now not going on like kone is the best striker in the world but our strikers at the time werent all that, jela had a bad season and even though anichebe had a good season or good games was only due to his work rate not his finishing which is a shame because his finishing is not all that, so thats my point about kone could of turnt them few draws into wins, also upfront is an area thats needs boosting as we all know because of the strikers we have at the moment and especially with jela having that bad season last time, why spend 5m on a kid who would probably take 2/3 seasons to kick on where as kone has done well in the prem has that experience in the prem and can add something to the team right now, maybe he was the only option we had within the budget of 5m or so it was that was the best deal for us yet like i said hes done well in the prem has that experience in the prem and most of all our manager knows exactly what he can do, so instead of all this ****ing negativity not just on here on all everton forums get behind him and the future players that come and stop moaning, we got him in earlyish instead of the last few hours of the deadline, future signings we get are not all gonna be 29-30, i am sick of being this selling club anyway, people who moan about no resale value i am sick of having to get rid of our top players ye sell a few but not every single one of them, sick of building a quality team then selling key players in that team then finding new ones then selling again then finding new ones etc, how are we gonna be a regular champions league contender when we keep selling our best players all the time? we will never improve if this keeps happening

...and further to me mate's comments just above, I have a lot of faith in the managerial capabilities of RM. I have said this before and I will say it here again: this is a new and very exciting era for EFC. To all the whingers - stop acting like bell-ends and pull yer 'eads in. This New Zealand based Evertonian can't wait for the season to begin (oh...and go the mighty All Blacks...now THAT'S a team that's dead easy to support...incredible win record of over 80% over ONE HUNDRED years!)

Just a shame that Win record is in a **** sport of how many internaitonal teams?

That's the only bit that worried me slightly. However, Jelavic is pretty much just a poacher, he doesn't have any of Kone's other main attributes like pace and dribbling.

I'm not sure about him on the left. I think he'd be good there but I think that's Mirallas' best position personally, but then Mirallas can also play up front.

I'm interested to see how we'll set up whichever way it will be.

Just like in Wigan. Pienaar deep and off-left, Kone up Centre but will drift into Channels, and Mirallas hanging close to the right back and make direct runs. Could work, and isn't much different from what we have now.
