Kone Signs on 3 Year Deal

Whelan has done well putting it out there, seems like he has drummed up more interest in Kone, which could work out better for Wigan financially.

Everton where allegedly trying to offer the £5 million on the drip, Wigan wanted it in a lump sum. Newcastle will have offered a bigger chunk up front. Not really that bothered.

Kenwright and Elstones transfer kitty plan has gone right up the swanny with no-one coming in for Fellaini. That way they would have massaged and twekaed the reported deals to look like we had spent more than the Fellaini money but would really only have spent the Fellaini money. Now what they have to work with is 7p and they have to make it look like they have supported the new managwer. Welcome to Everton Bobby!

Sorry if this seems a bit negative, I just hate the transfer window.

Not excusing him but the majority of those games were from the bench so the stat sounds worse then it actually is

edit/ think there were only 12 starts and limited time off the bench
How many starts did Jelavic have for us this season? Still scored 7 goals though and he's widely regarded to have had a shocker of a season.

I've made no secret of the fact I think Kone is a little bit pants and I think he'd be a poor value signing.

BUT, I still would like to see the deal go through because Martinez clearly wants him and you'd have to wonder what on earth he would think he's walked in to, if his new employers couldn't push through a deal for a player that seemed fairly straightforward.

The other problem here is Newcastles late bid. We may well still sign him and I think we will, but this other bid will now probably mean we'll have to pay more up front than we originally thought and wanted.

Everton and Newcastle both just simply activated the release clause according to ssn. With Coyle saying he wanted to come here, that's still what I see happening.
