Player that no one is really that arsed about but most think would be a good squad player but would prefer a marquee striker hasn't signed yet. The club haven't said for sure they are interested. Newcastle have supposedly made a bid according to the never wrong media. And half the forum goes into meltdown blaming Bill and everyone else.

Alternatively we could be the ones doing Whelan a favour by bigging him up. I didn't get the impression that Martinez was that interested in him from his interviews, but he liked and respected him, it was more awkward than anything.
