So. the people claiming Keane was Burnleys fastest player where chatting wham?
Perhaps he’s not so slow when he’s in a full sprint but over the first few metres and from a standing start he’s definitely a bit lumbersome. And I don’t think being the fastest Burnley player is that big an accolade.

There where a few moment during the Leicester game where he was trying to track Vardy. I know Vardy has excellent acceleration, but he's 30 odd now and this was over a a few meters.

Vardy targeted Keane because he knows he could get around him and has the legs over him. He hardly went near Zouma. I don't worry about Keane when he's coming up against target men - he didn't give an inch to Mitrovic - but he struggles sometimes with the more pacy and agile centre forwards.

If we can't get a superhero CB in the next summer window, then we need to compromise with Chelsea. Surely they have it in their hearts to work with us after the Barkley fiasco.
As was mentioned earlier if the new rules on the number of players you can loan out come into effect it may force Chelsea’s hand
Can’t see many clubs willing or able to spend big money on him

Other than Rudiger and Luiz who seem to be first choice, Chelsea have the likes of Cahill, probably into the last couple of seasons in the top flight with a contract that expires in May,Christensen young and developing and Ampadu who is going to be a top top player. They will be in the market for an experienced central defender but I can’t see Zouma going back there I see him as a rock sold defender but he doesn’t have the passing skills to play in Saris system

The market has gone mad and top defenders are costing north of £60 million. Zouma isn’t that level but he is a far better player than Keane who was valued around £25-35 million. If and a big if Zouma is sold Chelsea are going to want at least the top end of that and if he has a good season then that figure could nudge toward that £50 million mark
Nobody in their right mind will spend 50m on Zouma esp Brands
Having said that Koeman spent 30m on Keane

To be fair Vardy out paces most centre halves.
100% agree, his pace is about 90% of his game, but you could see throughout the game he was purposely targeting Keane instead of Zouma - now he’d definitely outpace Zouma over 20/30 metres but I think Vardy knew Keane has trouble keeping tabs on him and reacting to his movement.

Sometimes?

Yea Keane just isn't good enough to handle a pace counter. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about that right now unless you think Holgate or Jags are the better options. However we should have kept either the LB or RB back to help him out instead of bombing both forward and leaving him hung out to dry. On another day Vardy would have had a hat trick.

Keane and Zouma both did well on Saturday.

People keep slating Keane for getting done by Vardy, but Vardy literally won a league title because of how quick he is.

He's brilliant at those darting runs and it's why he scores goals - because the vast majority of defenders can't handle him.

Keane actually did well in that situation when Vardy got through in the first half, because he did just enough to put him off.

Vardy did target Keane and I thought Keane did very well.
It is always more difficult for the defender as he has to turn and then match the striker for pace which puts him at a disadvantage, but I can only remember two times that happened and only one real goal scoring chance for Vardy. In any game a player of the quality of Vardy will cause a defence problems.
