Lacina Traore

...he didn't have the best of games, but being a gangly, awkward looking type probably doesn't help. I'm sure we'll see a marked improvement after a few games. Interesting to see if he starts on Saturday.

I'd start with him, naismith will be better used later in the game, where he can use his knack for finding space against tired legs

im not sure he did tho, hes good against tiring players and finishing...he cant lead the line - see spurs game
He did fine vs Spurs in the first half. Lacina just seemed to be easily beaten to the ball and unable to control it when fending off defenders against Swansea. A bit like Naismith last year. He looked like he's in the first pre-season of the summer. Chelsea's defense won't give him a sniff.

what was wrong with him leading the line vs spurs?

he set up plenty of chances for osman, had it been barkley, at least one of those would have been taken. people only feel he had a bad game because when he got moved to the left he looked lost.

i'd probably start him over traore tbh, troare didn't really hold the ball up well vs swansea, he'd be a good option from the bench whilst he gains full fitness. different type of game though. naismith's scored in his last two games vs them as well.

i know what you mean, i guess alot will determine how traore has been in training this week..you could argue naismith 'deserves' the start, but i prefer him from the bench meself..

For me Naismith wont ever be an effective starter, he's a lot better coming on against more tired players and using his energy and work rate to make something happen against tired legs.

In his first game in nearly 2 months, in a new league, people have written him off already.

Everton that.

First game in four months. Full match fitness next month maybe, if at all depending on team selection for the rest of the season. Will we even see the real Traore in an Everton shirt? Maybe this is his bedding in period and he'll be here next season as well.

A couple of years ago I suggested a harness so that McAleny could ride Strac around, using his endless endurance and strength, while McAleny told him where to go and what to do. The StracAleny would have been unstoppable.

Traore is approximately the height of StracAleny.
