Realistically he's not actually going to be good is he.

He's just been signed by a club who will expect him to play to a similar standard as Falcao, so that gives you an idea of how highly rated the lad is.

He hasn't performed at Premier League standard yet so that's the one big "if" like but as an option he's a no brainer of a loan.

We've already got 3 on loan. Wouldn't we be breaking the rules with a fourth?

Two long term domestic loan signings, which is Barry and Lukaku obviously, so we can't loan from the Premier League (hence Jones would have had to have been a permanent, basically take on his wages, Stoke release him early etc.)

But we're allowed more loans from abroad.

Two national and two international isn't it?

Nope, unless it's changed there's no limit on international loans as long as you meet the domestic player quota of eight registered homegrown players in the squad. International loans are classed as 12 month signings to all extents and purposes.

Think this would be a great signing in truth. Fits our style perfectly and will give Romelu some decent cover. Plus would be a nightmare for defences trying to cope with both him & Lukaku. Player has a good scoring record everywhere he has been & must be highly rated to be picked up by money bags Monaco.

Plus on a loan deal, minimal outlay with no long term commitment seems pretty much risk free to me, defo a better choice than Kenwyne Jones! Also, I would hope with the money we have saved on bringing in another loan we could look to get that young Belgian striker in (perhaps loan him back till next season) or bolster elsewhere, Fernando, another striker who knows.

Exciting times, but whatever happens in Roberto I trust:D

Would be delighted if we got him in for the rest of the season. Have watched him a few times and on his day can look really dangerous. The sort of player that when Lukaku gets a rest we can get away with starting without loosing too much. The sort of player who I reckon would take a while for the league to work out. Can see him hitting the ground running. I will stick my neck out and say he can get 10 goals the rest of the season if we sign him in the next week. If we get him in and get in one or two permanent deals I will be made up with this window.

Looking at that video...
He doesn't look natural or fluid with the ball at his feet, but he is off the charts using his body to retain possession. Hope this one has truth to it.

Much rather get this lad in on loan for the rest of the season then spend proper money on a quality striker.

I trust Bobby to get someone in, in the summer. There just isn't the players in January or good value out there.

Pretty sure we're only allowed two non-domestic loans as well as two domestic. A few "sources of news" have also stated that too. I wouldn't be complaining if it wasn't though, Traore, Fernando, Messi all on loan would be delightful.

Did they change it in the summer after Watford loaned their entire squad last year? I remember them talking about adding a limit. Never thought it would effect us though so didn't pay much attention.
