Lampard appointed head coach of Coventry

He did surprisingly well with both Derby and Chelsea (and didn't they have a transfer ban at the time too?), to be honest. Downhill since but 50%+ winrate or something before he joined us. "Once Everton has touched you", I guess

Think he actually underachieved at Derby.

Had Tomori, Mount, Huddlestone, Ashley Cole, Harry Wilson.

Some half decent championship players like Bryson and Keogh.

Spent a fortune and they should have probably done better league wise.

Although at the time i did think they'd done quite well.

Also his first season at Chelsea was only a good half season. Second half of that season was pretty mediocre

Yeah same - at the time it seemed like it was okay, at least that was part of the copium when we hired him too I guess.

Those players are very good... now. At the time they were young and there to gain match experience (and Chelsea players too obviously which got them there ), and Cole and Huddlestone I believe didn't play a lot.

It's not like they've set the world alight either before or after him to be honest.

Didn't they reach a cup final or something too? I know Tuchel got hired after they'd already won their CL group and all that as it was memed on for quite some time, but only remember he played a thousand academy players in his first season

Because I said he did well with the two teams prior and made a joke how it's been downhill since he was here?

He was found out as a poor Prem manager when under the cosh but I don't hate the man, should I?
Fair enough, I think that's a sugar coated version of his performance myself. That Chelsea team was so easy to play against and with the loanees and players he had at Derby I'd call that an underperformance.

Fair play to him for sticking at management, clearly wants the challenge. I think he's a million miles away from being a decent manager myself.
