Lampard appointed head coach of Coventry

I think he’s got a really tough act to follow and whether he’s up to it is certainly up for debate but unlike some previous managers I’ve no ill will towards the fella at all . Wish him nothing but success , seems a thoroughly decent bloke and whether for show or not embraced the club at a time when we really needed it .

Despite what I said earlier I do think there might be the nucleus of a good manager in there somewhere. He’s definitely done the right thing by dropping down a level to learn his trade properly. Going abroad more away from the media spotlight might have been even more beneficial
It also depends where though - in England he knows the environment/people/teams/fans. Abroad in, let's say Germany - he'd be a known face for sure, but he won't have a feel for any of that and he'd find it hard to identify with clubs. Pardew recently managed in Bulgaria and couldn't cut it at all as well, not that he's some powerhouse manager but you know, you'd think he'd do well enough considering he had the 2nd best team in the land at the time (that he built also, as he was the DoF randomly).

Plus English people learning languages is... something, no offense

Football must be the only industry in the World where you can fail spectacularly at a job , be absolutely terrible get the sack in a very public manner and then get hired by another company on insane wages.

Lampard , Rooney , Gerard - the list is a long one.
Martinez is down that route as well, fully expect him to get the Barca job next somehow.

Yep, this first hit me when Graham Taylor got the England gig.

And because I had a chemistry set as a kid, they appointed me as head of........
