or lasaaagna?

Heated debates going on lately about the pronunciation.

A short 'a' in between the 's' and the 'g', saying it quick, like 'lasagna', or is it more drawn out, kind of like when you say 'onion'.

Lasoin'gna or lasaaagna.

Tried it with steak instead of mince and it blew my mind. True story.

Depends which part of the country you're from I guess.

Oop North we tend to use shortened vowels and Daarn Sarf it tends to be a longer sound. Like the difference between; Castle and Carstle.

Agree with the steak point. Same with chilli.

like bacari. lasargna is for toffs and poshos. GoT you're wrong. Get yourself a proper lasasgna, you'll love it.

This recipe will get you laid.

1 ½ lbs lean ground beef (750g)
1 cup diced onions (250ml)
1 garlic clove, minced
19 oz. can Italian tomatoes (540ml)
14 oz. can tomato sauce (398ml)
5 ½ oz. can tomato paste (156ml)
½ cup red wine (125ml)
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce (30ml)
1 tsp. sugar (5ml)
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 tsp. basil (5ml)
1 tsp. oregano (5ml)
8 lasagne noodles, cooked according to package directions
2 cups ricotta or cottage cheese (500ml)
1 lb. sliced mozzarella cheese (500g)
½ cup grated parmesan cheese (125ml)

Brown beef, onions and garlic. Drain off fat. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, paste, wine, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and seasonings. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. In a 9 x 13” (23 x 33cm) pan, layer ½ of the meat sauce, ½ of the noodles, ½ of the ricotta cheese and ½ of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with parmesan and bake at 350 Fahrenheit (180 Celsius) for 40 minutes. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Love the recipe, looks the goods.

You need at good homestyle lasagna mate, none of this processed stuff.

Cheese Sauce is essential.

Maybe thats were my problem lies

Disagree regarding cheese sauce. Actual cheese is better with it.(y)

Agreed - the 3 fresh types in that recipe of mine all melt together brilliantly.

The 3 similar but different tomato sauce, paste & canned tomatoes are also key.

Did I see cottage cheese in that recipe?

That's just bang wrong. Do you put pineapple in there too?

All the rest is standard though. Can't go wrong with a bit of lasagne, green salad and nice vino tinto.

I ******* love lasagne, need to stop eating it at places that aren't proper italian restaurants though.

I had it on Sunday that was absolutely crap & last month went to a Yates' & ordered 1, it came out cold along with my brothers who had 1 so we sent them back (this was the Friday before Wembley so I was taking no chances) & that came out cold too. Does my head in when I get a poor standard 1 because a well made 1 is 1 of the nicest tasting things known to mankind
