Lasagna is top of the class.
Also, it's definitely the main word in that Champions League song.
LASAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGNAAAAAAAAAAAA
Take it from an Italian speaker, me, that it's pronounced with short vowels and it's lasagne when you're talking about them so.....the lasagne were very nice (plural) but if you're talking about a plate of lasagna, then it's, well, 'un piatto di lasagna' - singular.
strange and nothing to get pedantic about but that's how an Italian would pronounce and talk about that lovely dish.
Emilia Romagna in the north east of Italy is the home of lasagna.
** Bows down to the font of all italian-based knowledge **
Isn't Lasagne named after the dish it was originally cooked in?
Seems funny saying 'un piatto di lasagna' or 'a plate of dish'
could be, though I've never heard that before. Perhaps everyone knew that except me!
anyway, my main talent is eating it rather than wondering why it's called what it is - the same applies to most food. I love food, I love eating nice stuff, not so much quantity but quality.
Yum yum, can't wait for the peas and spuds to be ready in the garden, just been out there earthing up the spuds. It'll be a shame to eat them, they're so well nurtured and looked after!
The strawbs are doing well, carrots, radish, onions, toms, basil, sweetcorn and peppers all coming along nicely. Raspberries and blackcurrents, damsons, plums and apples. Not sure of the crop yet but looks okay so far.
Er, right, le lasagne sono favolose!
I'm right with you there, but I go for both quality and quantity.
That reminds me, I need to get down to my potatoes to earth them up, just hope the slugs haven't beaten me to it. Little gits.
Good luck with the sweetcorn and pepper, I heard they are a bit of a nightmare. I'm sticking with easy peasy, bumper crop type ... erm, crops. Jerusalem artichokes, spuds, broad/borlotti/runner beans and tommy-atoes.
Ooh and a windowsill full of herbs and jalapenos!
or lasaaagna?
Heated debates going on lately about the pronunciation.
A short 'a' in between the 's' and the 'g', saying it quick, like 'lasagna', or is it more drawn out, kind of like when you say 'onion'.
Lasoin'gna or lasaaagna.
Tried it with steak instead of mince and it blew my mind. True story.

Reminds me of back in the day when channel 4 first showed Serie A and people used to think the opening credits said "goal Lazioooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo".
Oh and a pub near me does the best veggie lasagne ever.
