Take it from an Italian speaker, me, that it's pronounced with short vowels and it's lasagne when you're talking about them so.....the lasagne were very nice (plural) but if you're talking about a plate of lasagna, then it's, well, 'un piatto di lasagna' - singular.
strange and nothing to get pedantic about but that's how an Italian would pronounce and talk about that lovely dish.
Emilia Romagna in the north east of Italy is the home of lasagna.

Usually Lasagne Verdi , or Green Lasagne , assume from the Pasta variety used . End of useless - and very tenuous- fact re; Lasagne .
