Last Film You Watched

I watched The Possession last week. It wasn't our first choice of film to watch but all the others were too full.

It wasn't bad. I like the odd horror film but I always find the earlier bits of films like this the scariest, when it's eerie, thought provoking. And then at the end when it gets a bit more graphic it's just not scary any more.

6/10.

Watched The Social Network on Saturday night.

Not bad at all.

6.5/10

SIX POINT FIVE ?!?!?!

Anyway, watched 'Margin Call' the other night, pretty interesting movie about what it was like to be on the inside of the banking crisis looking out. If you're looking for an action film this isn't for you but it has a fantastic cast. Stanley Tucci, Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons, Demi Moore among others.

Like i said, i don't get the big deal about it.

Unlike a movie like say, The Departed, the story never really drew me in, it didn't create any suspense or give me any real emotional attachment to any of the characters. It was obvious for example, what was going to happen in the bar after Pesci was insulted by the made man, and there was no coming back from that, Henry even said it himself.

I'm not saying it's not a well written movie, or that the characters were weak, it just felt very A to B. It was always obvious that he (Henry) was going to end up falling fowl of the law, and when he did it didn't leave me thinking 'wow, what a great movie'.

It was a good movie, but 'one of the greatest of all time' ? No way. Scorcese has made better.

Goodfellas was actually the last film I watched as well. I've seen it loads though. Definitely one of my favourite gangster movies of all time like. Neither come close to my favourite though, Once Upon a Time in America (it's just under 4hrs though and not everyone's cup of tea).

Once Upon a Time in America
The Godfather: part 2
Casino
Pulp Fiction
The Godfather
Goodfellas
Scarface
Road to Perdition
Snatch. (a bit better than Lock, Stock IMO)
The Untouchables

That's my top 10 gangster films, subject to change like. Need to see that City of God though, just haven't gotten around to it. And that new film Lawless, apparently that's a good watch.
