The DCEU is having massive nap in the woke stakes hey Coley
Get Carter (1971)
Seen it three or four times before but not for a while so I put it on Friday night. Absolutely brilliant and a stark reminder of how bad British beaches used to be.

I saw that at the pictures and thought it was very good and the “ big screen “ did justice to the scenery.View attachment 49894
This has just come out on Sky. Quite a long re-telling of the tale that some cowboys are bad and some indians are good. Lots of moody mumbling so you turn the volume up followed by loud gunfights so you turn the volume down. This gives you something to do as the film grinds on to the ending you guessed from the posters before you even started watching. Saying that though, I did quite enjoy it...
DCEU is sleeping but Shazam and Aquaman will steady the ship but I don't think I could be more excited for "Arthur"
I'm wary of both of those, but I do hope they are good films. Shazam looks to have the best chance, but I'll be seeing both for sure.
Joker...not sure yet. Phoenix, yep absolutely could see him killing it. I just hope it doesn't exist in the Suicide squad world. Does that mean Leto is out as the Joker? Didn't think about that.
Shazam is just a fun film and Aquaman will be DC's Wonder Women type hit.
And Joker will hopefully be amazing and Phoenix will nail it but how Leto and DC will be able to mix I think they will have to just bite the bullet and reboot everything all over again.
Personally I hope they just do solo movies because DC have the Heroes and the Villians but Marvel needed The Avengers so bad.
Also Cavill perhaps leaving Superman and Affleck in Rehab, a clean slate is needed but most importantly DC and Warner Bros needed to do their own thing rather then copying Marvel because as good as Marvel is it will never be better the The Dark Knight so finding the right vision will ultimately win the superhero battle
I agree, but they won't. They'd be better off just accepting defeat alltoghter as far as films go and focusing purely on other things like tv, animated films, video games, novels and of course the comics themselves were they have a superior product. Better that then waste more time and money chasing a casual audience they lost before they even began.I think Marvel have moved the goalposts so far DC wont ever catch up in this iteration. DC need to boot Geoff Johns and get in someone who knows what they’re doing. Oh its looks like they have.
Next I’d bin all these disasters they are planning.

What a mess. I’d get back to basics and go back to the source material.
Their decisions have been beyond ludicrous, who God's name wants a joker origin film?! It's just so frustrating for me to see a company that has a vastly superior selection of characters with a vastly superior catalogue of stories squander it all. Its just to late now.

Spiderman is a marvel property mate but DC have loads of great characters. Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (who is a brilliant character that is unfortunately tainted by the awful Reynolds movie). Green Arrow another with excellent potential. Martin Manhunter would be interesting as would a Flash film with a non-cringey actor playing Barry Allen. They've got John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Cyborg along with the Titans and many other characters like Hawkman and the Spectre. They could use the New God's that may be completely unknown to your average viewer but have great potential if done properly. The Booster Gold character would work better today then when he was first created as a film character.just sounds like they keep trying to cash in on Heath Ledger's for-the-ages performance. Suicide Squad was hyped & marketed with lots of stills & clips of Leto's silly Joker.
I'm not that clued up about comics, who else does DC have apart from Spidey/Super/Batty?
