Last Film You Watched

my woman doesn't. we put on Fury Road and she groaned with boredom while taking the piss out of how macho it all looked, shouting at me with utter mock: MEN!! FIGHTING!! WITH MASSIVE CARS & GUNS!! GRRR!!

i had to turn it off after barely 20 minutes and ended up with Black Swan, ffs
Yeah but Mila Kunis shags Natalie Portman in that so... you know, swings and roundabouts.

Recnelty bought an X Box and I quite enjoyed playing one of these games, so I've got a basic inderstanding of what it's supposed to be about, but even that didn't help me penetrate this incomprehensible, plodding, incoherent joyless, twaddle. It's the first film I've watched Marion Cotillard in and not wanted to ravish her immediately. For that, it shall never be forgiven. Cobblers.

that was one of my problems with it...total cringe that scene. Aronofsky has form with showing us hardcore content he has little idea about himself: drug use in Requiem for a Dream was also cringe, and he couldn't resist showing us baby-torture in Mother.

A shock-tactic director hiding behind artistry. A shame, really, as his pictures are well-made with bags of potential. Pi is arguably the best director debut film out there.

I still have to see The Wrestler, hoping he pulls one back there!

Didn't watch any of the rest of it to be honest.

The Wrassler is decent - Noah less so. The Fountain is nicely ambitious, with a moving story at its heart. Completely agree about Pi. Mother is the first time I've felt properly irritated by an Aronofsky - it's a very annoying waste of time.

Haven't seen Noah, cringed at all the crying in The Fountain. I wasn't annoyed at Mother until the baby scene, I just knew he was gonna do something disturbing with the bairn. Shock tactics aren't much shocking when they're so predictable.

Jen Lawrence is also losing goodwill, as I like her as an actress but her films are getting duffer: Passengers was total pants.

Who would you say is a current director who never makes a weak film? Even Scorsese has his duffers, imo. Polanski, maybe? Paul Thomas Anderson?

I initially thought that, but having watched it a few times Ive come to really like it. Its like a mix of all three previous films and Charlize Theron is very good in the lead.

The rescue of the " breeding stock " of the pregnant supermodels is a bit silly though lol
There are some much movies to watch on Netflix and Amazon prime you have got a load of choice like.
