Last Film You Watched

Totally agree. Wizard & Glass was my favourite; as a huge fan of King, I have it down as one of his very best.

Spoiler tags tho' there's no spoiler really:
I wasn't expecting the flashback to be the whole book at the time I was reading it...it was a brilliant way to follow-up the action-packed Waste Lands (which is probably my favourite). Before the Dark Tower i had The Stand as my favourite King, so was quite thrilling to have those tie-ins. He arguably overdid all those tie-ins later, of course lol

And on the subject of films that match (or exceed) the books they're based on, I'd add Requiem for a Dream.

Here we have to disagree. I loved Pi, but his second film didn't do it for me, it was unbearably bleak. The section with the TV-addicted mum was very good, tho'.

Beautiful Boy

What a mess. The soundtrack was so weird, it's like they just pressed play on a song when someone in the film was driving. The dru g addiction seemed very polished. There was no point to any of it. Ok acting, I guess. 4/10

Some excellent choices there.

I’d add :

the Shining

Let the Right One In - original Swedish version ( if you haven’t read the book I highly recommend it )

No Country for Old Men.

Marathon Man.

Deliverance.

Then you have films that are better than the book :

Blade Runner being the obvious one.

Midnight Express is another, as the book is average.
I’d add The Green Mile to your top list.

Anyone seen that Us yet? Got rave reviews.

Not me but it looks at least as creepy as Get Out.

Having seen Get Out might change the somewhat surprising aspect of it all. My gut told me the GF was an unaware pawn for her predatory family...which you knew from the jump there was something weird as fk going on. The GF being a key player was unexpected.

I haven’t seen Get Out so this could still be surprising for me!

Just watched a old Kung Fu film called 36 Crazy Fist. 70s Jackie Chan film, not as good as the Drunken Master or Snake in the Eagles Shadow but ok for 90 minutes of silliness
