Still the Lord of the Rings I have the most affinity for - Massively underrated, and Jackson clearly used it as a major inspiration for his films

Such a shame that the money ran out before they could film the rest of it
Same here loved the animated one, thought it captured the story brilliantly,a lot darker than the Jackson films
Gandalf is a massive spice head on it.
The scene when the hobbits are hiding from the Nazgul..... Chills :o :o

A drought during which the major local employer shuts down turns an American community practically into a desert shanty town. For some reason all the men decide, one by one, to disappear leaving the women and children behind with very little to do. They manage to achieve this for the entire duration of the film...

Went to see The Irishman last night.
Superb film. Lasted 3 1/2 hours but flew by. De Niro, Pacino, & Pesci great. Scorcese's best film for over 25 years.
Not to be missed.

Cant wait to see it. I saw Joker this weekend, and its EASILY in my top three movies ever, so if The Irishman is anywhere near as good, Ill be a happy man. Im a big Scorcese/De Niro/Pesci/Pacino fan, so Im sure it will be great.

There was a radio adaptation which was excellent (if you've got a spare twelve hours). I used to have all the cassettes - remember them. lol Anyway, a classy BBC production with great incidental music.

Still enjoying the novelty of Netflix and the films on offer so came across Siege of Jadotville.
True story of Irish UN peacekeepers in the Congo in the early sixties.
Not so much the film content and acting, but the story it told.
Thought provoking on many levels.

Cracking film.

Their treatment afterwards was shameful, particularly that of the commanding officers.

Wind River should be one of your must see films.

It’s a film that doesn’t sound like it’s up to much, but is absolutely brilliant.
