Last Film You Watched

Bad Boys for life. Obviously it's not Citizen Kane but it is a very safe, entertaining film. The magic is not as it was in the first film, suppose that was never going to be the case though. It has a few genuinely funny moments, good action scenes bit of pulling on the heart strings. What more could you want.
Lots of explosions, Will Smith running in slow motion, and camera's slow panning around the protagonists every 5 mins. Plus minimum one "This [Poor language removed] just got real"...

The word of my Grandad (who served in the army and who's father and grandfather also where). Along with all the books I've read on the subject written by people who know a great deal more then you and me.

Watched "Midway" - WW2 shoot-em-up last night (the new one not the 70's Chuck Heston one)

It was ....OK. Editing and structure was a bit of a mess, it jumps from location / events in a very rapid and confusing way. Plenty of war movie cliche's in there as well - Cocky wise-cracking pilots, gruff Admirals, Nervy first-time pilots, Stoic emotionless Japanese commanders, etc.

It's entertaining enough though and the battle scenes are terrific to look at. Much better than the dire 2001 Pearl Harbor

We got brought to see "battle for the midway" as part of our history studies, there was also a school from Kirkby there, the battle in the cinema was far more interesting than anything on the screen

Poetic.

Not as Malick-y as most of is recent films. It was nice hanging out in the Austrian mountains. He also managed to create some suspense with some urgency in places. It made me think of a 'higher power' more than i thought i would.

3 hours long, it could have easily been cut down to 2 and a bit if there wasn't shots of a stream for 10 mins now and again but I guess thats him lol.

The cinema was too hot and I hate the Showcase 'comfy' electronic chairs because I never get comfy.

Good you got along to see it. I didn't, and unsurprisingly tomorrow is its last day at the Cineworld nearest me that has it. Will catch up with it eventually, though. Was thinking I should dig out The New World for a re-watch at some point.

I buy a lot but only cheap ones, 2 quid and that to check things out, I've got mates who buy blurays for 20 quid, crazy, then again they think I'm mad paying the price of Everton tickets

Haha it’s just annoying storage for me. I buy box sets like LotR, Harry Potter, Friends etc. but films if I can’t find on Netflix/Prime I’ll just find a stream online.

Blurays and music is literally the only hobbies I spend money on these days. Probably purchased a couple of hundred blurays the last 2 years. Actually ordered a bunch of films from a Norwegian site that's "emptying their storage" yesterday. No idea what to expect from these films:

6 Below, Deepwater Horizon, Wall-E, Detroit, Halloween (already have it, but the steelbook was too sexy to ignore), The Great Wall, Life, Nobel, La La Land, Trainspotting 2, The Disaster Artist, Jackie Chan Vintage Collection (I'll literally buy anything if it's cheap enough lol) and The Purge 1-4 box set.
