I mean that is undoubtedly a terrible week haha. But losing your job, having your wife and child murdered and then being sold into slavery surely tops it.

It's an interesting question though. Wonder what the worst ever in film is? Oldboy is right up there but obviously over a much longer period than a week

Oldboy well up there. Just reminded me it’s a due a re-watch (the proper one).

Just watched Cowboys, in which Steve Zahn plays a father who absconds with his kid, and they set off on horseback through the wilds of Montana in the hope of making it across the Canadian border. Meanwhile, the mother (who's separated from the father) alerts the authorities, who try to track down the missing child. I thought this was a very solid and entertaining film, with quite a few genuinely tense moments.
