This has somehow passed me by, what a film.

A young solider ( Jack O’Connell ) is left behind by his troop, during a riot in Derry. The film follows his fight to stay alive in the Provo part of Derry.

The film doesn’t take sides, they’re all equally as self serving and brutal as each other.

O’Connell, as usual is standout.
Good film this with many Liverpool locations used

The Swarm (Netflix)

Crap.

Spends half the runtime as a family drama and the stresses of running a farm, albeit a weird type of farm. Then it tries to become a horror movie but doesn't commit to it. By the end, you're left wondering what exactly it wanted to be.

Well acted but not something I'd recommend.

Watched this last night and was just about to mention it, very decent film, showed a lot of what doesn't get mentioned with the British plotting with each side, certainly worth a watch

I’ve no idea why I’d never seen it before, it’s a truly great film, on a minimal budget.

There were a few standouts, but Jack O’Connell is a special talent.

Up there with Tom Hardy, working class boys putting the RADA lot to shame.

Think with O' Connell is that's one of the problems, he appears in relatively small budget films, think if he got lead role in a blockbuster he would be out shining Hardy

I’ve watched a few films this week whilst off work injured.

World Trade Centre
The Impossible
Out of the Furnace
King of New York
Black Mass
The Prestige (one of my favourites all-time)
I'm of the opinion that The Prestige is underrated, even with all the praise it gets. Such a fantastic movie and completely rewatchable where you catch more and more.
